About me

My name is Magdalena Goik.
I have been a Polish as a Foreign Language teacher for many years and I love doing that. It broadens my horizons as I can learn from my students. I meet plenty of wonderful, inspiring people from various nations, including Koreans, Cubans, Englishmen, Americans, Macedonians, Mexicans, Georgians, Turks, a Columbian, Ethiopian, Egyptian, Cameroonian, Zimbabwean, Iranian, Pakistani, Kyrgyz, Nigerians, Slovaks and Ukrainians.
The whole world in my classroom!
Each of my courses ich unique and crafted for each individual student and for their linguistic, cultural and psycho-emotional needs.
I teach the living, colloquial and literary language and industry-specific terminology (business Polish, legal Polish, medical vocabulary).
Crafting each course I make use of the latest achievements in language pedagogy, and neurosciences and I combine them with elements of gamification and Polish culture and literature. Nevertheless, I find storytelling to be the most important aspect of my classes, since stories are what feed and shape us from the dawn of time. We need tales as much as we need air. That’s why my students practice speaking by telling stories be they real or fictional ones. It’s usually a lot of fun.
Moreover, I teach classes in Polish Literature for Foreigners. I love teaching whereas my students love learning Polish. I hold a degree in Slavic Languages and Literature and I graduated from the postgraduate course in Teaching Polish Language.
I speak Croatian, Serbian, Russian, Macedonian, English and Bulgarian and I’m currently studying Portuguese and Ukrainian.
KI am an author of non-fiction books, student books, academic papers, Polish teaching resources, methodological guides, interdisciplinary project scripts, and Polish Language and Literature lesson scripts .
I have taught Polish Language at multiple Universities and Language Schools, including LEVEL Language School and Porto Alegre Language School in Gliwice, where I have been teaching for many years. I also run lessons at WSB Merito University and Kievan Medical University.
;I love travels and pilgrimages through St. James’s Way. I walked Portugal far and wide. I dream of visiting Jerusalem.
